Toothgrinder Labs is the collaboration of Thor Bremer and Ethan Loafman.  They create custom music in any style, for any purpose.  Toothgrinder produces music for: commercials, presentations, informational videos, websites, conferences, and more.  Email at: toothgrinderlabs@gmail.com to discuss your next project.

Thor Bremer is the composer/co-producer for Toothgrinder.  Thor came to composing after many years of honing his chops as a drummer and percussionist.  He has played with many of the finest musicians in the Chicago area, in groups with styles as diverse as: rock, pop, jazz, classical, Latin, Caribbean, musical theatre, fusion, folk, Indian classical, metal, children's music, and more.  With his contacts in the Chicago music scene, Thor has access to the best talent Chicago has to offer.

Thor earned his bachelor's degree at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where he studied classical and jazz music and that's where the composition bug bit him.  He started writing big band music in school and hasn't stopped.  He has three original albums to his credit, including a Native American Folk Tale Rock Opera (seriously!).  He currently leads a chamber ensemble called the Bowtime Quintet where he composes and arranges the music and plays marimba with his wife, violinist Stephanie Young.

In addition to music-making, Thor enjoys refinishing and building his own instruments, painting, and teaching and directing the students he teaches at School of Rock.

Ethan Loafman is a music producer and audio engineer, and is the mix engineer and co-producer for Toothgrinder.  Born and raised in Chicago, Ethan grew up playing drums and writing music for rock bands, and started touring the midwest while still in high school. With a passion for electronic music and technology, he began acquiring synthesizers and using them in his music.

Ethan graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Audio Design and Production, where he learned the ins and outs of music studios, sound design, and recording technologies. Outside of class, he made a name for himself in Chicago as a DJ in the electronic scene. He has since worked in several recording studios in the Chicagoland area, engineering a wide variety of styles from Indie, Rock, Metal, Folk, House, EDM and Hip Hop. Ethan is one half of the DJ/Production duo Outsiders, and has released music on iTunes and Beatport that has seen press across the blogosphere.
